Leadership opportunities
Through workshops, meetings and other events, Farm Bureau works to develop the leadership skills of its county representatives, young farmers (ages 18-40) and farm women. These activities help ensure the strength of our organization and Virginia's agriculture industry.

Annual awards and competitions
Our organization annually recognizes outstanding producers, as well as farming and non-farming youth, for achievement and leadership. Farm Bureau's annual photo contest is open to all members, and youth poster and essay contests are open to all members' children. Each encourages both creative expression and a greater understanding of Virginia agriculture. The Rural Health Essay Contest awards cash prizes to students interested in pursuing health-related careers in a rural locality.
